Compatibility of useful microorganisms and their labeling

The Russian national standard GOST R 59549-2021 “Biological safety. Food products. Compatibility of useful (non-toxic and non-pathogenic) microorganisms and their labeling. General reguirements" will come into force from September 1.
The new standard applies to food products containing useful (non-toxic and non-pathogenic) food microorganisms and establishes requirements for their labeling. It is aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of food products, protecting the rights of consumers.
The standard GOST R 59549-2021 standard establishes requirements for labeling of food products containing useful food microorganisms in order to inform the consumer about the compatibility and usefulness of food microorganisms and is aimed at increasing the marketability of food products containing useful food microorganisms and ensuring the safety of circulation of food products obtained with their use.
