New GOST standard for grounding devices

A new Russian national standard GOST R 58882-2020 “Grounding devices. Equation potentials systems. Grounders. Grounding conductors Technical requirements" was approved.
The new standard applies to grounding devices for electric power facilities (power plants and substations, power lines, distribution points, transition points, etc.), electrical installations of industrial, residential and administrative buildings and structures, communications and transport facilities. The standard establishes technical requirements for leveling systems and potential equalization, grounders and grounding conductors, as well as the classification and types of grounding devices.
The standard does not apply to grounding devices of communication facilities and railway transport, if these facilities are not located in a common area with electrical installations.
GOST R 58882-2020 is mandatory for use by all companies and organizations involved in the design, manufacture, acceptance, testing and operation of grounding devices.
