New GOST standard for lift control devices
31 January 2022
The interstate standard GOST 28911-2021 “Lifts. Control devices, signals and additional fittings” was adopted, which comes into force on June 1, 2022 and establishes requirements for control devices, alarms and additional fittings of new lifts, taking into account the type of control systems, conditions of use and the purpose of lifts.
The new standard is being introduced to replace GOST 28911-2015 “Lifts. Control devices, signals and additional fittings” and will come into force on June 1, 2022.
The experience in the application of GOST 28911-2021 has shown that the limitations of the scope adopted in it hinder the development of the design of the corresponding lift devices.
The new standard, in comparison with the previous one, includes requirements for control and signal devices for lifts that use indoor, outdoor, simple mixed control, as well as for special control and signaling devices for passenger lifts intended for installation in buildings of medical institutions, fire lifts, as well as to ensure the accessibility of lifts for the disabled and other people with limited mobility.
