The national standard GOST R 59523-2021 “Curing sealants for constructions. General specifications" is active from November 1, 2021. The development of this standard is to ensure the reliability and durability of sealing materials for construction and, as a result, to ensure the safety and comfort of the buildings and structures in use.
The new standard applies to curing sealing materials (sealants) for construction purposes, used for joints and seams of external enclosing structures of residential, public and industrial buildings and structures in order to protect them from moisture and air penetration.
GOST R 59523-2021 establishes general technical requirements for sealants, classification, requirements for raw materials and materials, completeness, packaging, labeling, safety requirements, acceptance rules, test methods, requirements for transportation and storage, instructions for use.
The new standard is intended for use by sealants manufacturers, design and construction organizations, testing centers and laboratories in assessing quality indicators, as well as to confirm compliance.
