This standard established requirements for the development, design, fabrication, testing, erection and operation of steel industrial piping installations intended for the transport within the facilities of chemical, petrochemical, oil processing, oil, gas and other related industries of gaseous, vaporous and liquid fluids with design pressure up to 320 MPa inclusive and vacuum of not less than 665 Pa (5 mm Hg) at the temperature of the fluid from minus 196 °С to plus 700 °С. Industrial piping installations are the installations within industrial facilities transporting raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, steam, water, fuel, reagents and other substances required for production process and operation of equipment, as well as interplant piping on the balance sheet of the facility. This standard does not fully apply to operation, control, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of in-service piping systems. Provisions of this standard may be used for the above purposes. However, in such a case consideration for accompanying documents according to GOST 2.601 and other normative documents (ND) may be required. Technical regulations, interstate, national and other standards, construction codes and regulations, documents issued by regulatory authorities for specific productions should be used along with this standard for design, erection and operation of industrial piping installations. The requirements for fire and explosion safety, occupational safety and health specified in applicable ND should be also taken into account. This standard does not apply to: - main pipelines (gas, oil and product main pipelines); - piping of power stations, boiler houses and mines; - heating lines, water supply and sewerage pipelines; - dedicated piping installations (lines of mobile units, lubrication systems, piping being an integral part of equipment, etc.); - fuel gas piping, to which the rules for gas distribution and consumption systems apply; - pipes, tubes, pipe headers, fire-heated shunt pipes of furnaces located inside the furnace; - power pipework of boilers to which the rules for steam and hot water piping apply. The piping operating entity (piping owner) is responsible for proper and safe operation of the piping, operation control, for its timely and quality maintenance and repair, as well as for coordination of all changes introduced into the project and design documentation with the project designer. |
