Description

1.1. This Guideline applies to the flaw detection range of main gas pipelines covered by PP recording the geometry of the gas pipeline when passing inside it (out-of-roundness, reduction, turning angles) and defects (dents, wrinkling) using geometry pigs, as well as corrosion damage of internal and external surfaces of pipes metal and internal defects of pipeline walls (exfoliation, nonmetallic inclusions) using flaw-detection pigs. 1.2. This Guideline applies to all organizations (including foreign ones) involved with the survey of main gas pipelines of the RAO "Gazprom" using pipeline pigs, to gas transmission providers operating these pipelines, as well as to organizations engaged in the development and production of pipeline pigs and their performance tests at operating sections of main gas pipelines. 1.3. The Guideline sets requirements to the process for the determination of the technical state of main gas pipelines (MGP) using a set of pipeline pigs. 1.4. The Guideline defines the relations and liabilities of the parties involved in the diagnostic works using PP and other interested organizations. 1.5. The Guideline contains main requirements to the arrangement of works on flaw detection of pipelines with PP and to occupational health and safety. 1.6. The Guideline is developed in elaboration and in addition to the current normative documents and rules (Annex 3), which requirements shall be followed when arranging and performing the works stipulated herein. 1.7. In-line inspection of the MGP line part (LP) is one of the non-destructive test methods within a complex technical supervision system and generally shall be accompanied with other survey and diagnostic methods for the MGP LP. 1.8. Not all sections of the MGP LP can be diagnosed with the use of PP. In connection therewith, the Guideline establishes the requirements set to the sections of the MGP LP and flaw-detection pigs that determine applicability of the PP. In this case, it is required to take into consideration that none of the non-destructive test methods used in PP guarantees 100% detection of all defects present in the pipe wall. |
