Description

This standard applies to mineral wool manufactured from molten rocks of gabbro-basalt group and their analogues, sedimentary rocks, volcanic scoria, smelter slags, industrial silicate wastes and their mixtures and intended for manufacturing of heat insulating, soundproof and sound-absorbing products. Mineral wool can be used as a heat-insulating material in construction and industry for insulation of surfaces with a temperature of minus 180°C to plus 700°C (hereinafter referred to as “commercial-grade” wool). This standard establishes the requirements for mineral wool, rules for quality control of mineral wool intended for production of heat-insulating products, rules for commercial-grade wool acceptance, test methods, requirements for transportation and storage. |
