Every year on October 14, the world celebrates World Standards Day, with the aim to promote awareness about the essentiality of ‘standardisation to global economy’ for enhancing peace and prosperity without harming our planet Earth. World Standards Day 2020 is themed “Protecting the planet with standards”.

Rostechnadzor approved the updated Administrative Regulations for the provision of state services for certification of experts in the field of industrial safety. The corresponding order No. 138 of March 30, 2020 was signed by the head of the department, Alexei Alyoshin, and comes into force on October 12.

In Russia, a new national standard GOST R 58927-2020 is coming into force for fuel dispensers at gas stations with requirements for protection from outside interference in the fuel supply system. The standard applies only to new devices and does not apply to existing ones.

From November 1, 2020, the Russian national standard GOST R 58897-2020 “Subways. Basic terms and definitions” will come into force.

From September 30, 2020, the updated set of rules SP 8.13130.2020 “Fire protection systems. Outdoor fire-fighting water supply. Fire safety requirements” comes into force and replaces the previous SP 8.13130.2009.

The new Russian national standard GOST R 58791-2019 “Fire and rescue equipment. Conventional graphic signs" was adopted, which comes into force on January 1, 2021.
